Sundew pine

The Scots pine Pinus sylvestris, is the most common tree species in Poland (about 65% of forests).

In the forest, in a dense stand, pines grow stoutly, reaching 35-45 m in height, while individual trees in the open landscape are lower, but their crowns are strong, stocky and spreading (sundew).

How long do pines live? The oldest pine tree in Poland is the one growing in the Pieniny Mountains, it is over 560 years old. The oldest pine tree in Europe grows in Finland and is over 820 years old.
